OBSERVATION 01 / INITIAL STATE

It's wonderful to meet you!

My name is Mehrage (pronounced Mirage), and I'm a third-year student at the University of Toronto Scarborough.

I love data engineering, the mechanics of machine learning, and discovering how to apply them to real-world problems. My main professional goal right now is to break into AI engineering and Data Science!

But beyond the code and the math, you can usually find me hitting the gym, getting lost in a good book, or snacking on an unreasonable amount of green grapes.

Recent Work

Revue (AI Code Reviewer)

  • Built an AI-powered pull request reviewer during the 2026 GenAI hackathon.
  • Automated code reviews directly on GitHub to provide intelligent feedback and streamline the development lifecycle.
  • Leveraged advanced LLMs (Anthropic API) alongside a Next.js, Supabase, and Prisma stack.

TMS Recruitment Curve Analysis

  • Refactored a TMS pipeline to automate the preprocessing of high-dimensional neuroimaging data for stroke rehabilitation research.
  • Applied constrained nonlinear optimization to fit sigmoid functions, extracting key clinical metrics like plateau, S50, and slope.
  • Generated publication-quality visualizations that directly supported two upcoming clinical manuscripts on stroke recovery.

Experience

Student Researcher (Data Science & Analytics)
Baycrest Hospital — Rotman Research Institute | Apr 2025 to Apr 2026

  • Designed and implemented end-to-end data analysis pipelines using Python, R, and MATLAB to process high-dimensional neuroimaging datasets.
  • Applied advanced statistical modeling, including nonlinear regression and longitudinal mixed-effects models, to quantify complex patient recovery outcomes.
  • Performed rigorous data quality control and transformation procedures to standardize inputs across multi-session recordings.
  • Collaborated directly with a multidisciplinary clinical team, delivering data-driven insights that supported two upcoming scientific manuscripts.
